Hi Everyone,

Consider this your Monday morning inspiration. 😊

  1. The first article chronicles (pardon the pun) the very real concerns and impact of social isolation:
Bay Area seniors struggle with loneliness as pandemic drags on: ‘It’s four walls and a TV’
https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Bay-Area-seniors-struggle-with-isolation-15673820.php?fbclid=IwAR1ev4Da8PuuKiTyQDFhElVnmIbje-W6srnFpGXjvQRB0LqhmdrKnKtucTM#photo-20156156

  1. The second article is a good reframe and look at individual elder stories:

Examining Aging with San Francisco’s Elders: Lives in Question
A photo story collection spotlighting an often overlooked population. In partnership with photojournalist Sahara Marina Borja, Metta Fund is profiling twelve older San Franciscans, and how they are renegotiating what it means to grow old.

  1. The third article is a heart-warming story of how much our actions can make a difference and how impactful outside-the-box solutions can be. It also reminds us not to underestimate the interesting lives and wisdom elders possess:

D.C. woman, 90, watches gym classes from her window all day. When the gym found out, they painted her a mural.

I hope this provides some fortitude by reminding us why we do what we do and gives some inspiration for your week!
