Good Evening, Everyone!

Our next meeting of the Senior Task Force will be Wednesday, September 16th, at 9:09 a.m. Instructions for how to join this virtual meeting are listed below.  Our topic this month is:


COVID-19: Social Isolation and other Pandemic Issues

This month we will continue our discussion of the particular issues for older adults that have been created or exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.  We have seen what partnering can do to connect service silos or to develop programs. We have an opportunity to lean into the current struggle, be creative in how we address it, and come out the other end with better or new programs. I hope that you all will join me in continuing the conversation and working together to adapt and strengthen our Aging Network. After a brief, round table opportunity to share the status of your agencies, services, or neighborhoods, we will continue our discussion from last month.

Below are the topics I previously proposed. Please think about how you experience these from your vantage point and what ideas you have to address them. Feel free to add issues you are aware of that are not listed below.


  1.  Social isolation, mental health, and quality of life of our area older adults
     *   Providing meaningful engagements and connections
  2.  Adapting the community and its services to allow for a safe reintegration into the community (whenever that may be possible)
  3.  Supporting family caregivers at home with their care recipients
  4.  Others?

It bears repeating that this is a crucial time for folks from all different arenas (including community members) to come together and plan. Feel free to share the meeting invitation with others.
