Good Morning,

Our next meeting of the Senior Task Force will be Wednesday, November 18th, at 9:09 a.m. Instructions for how to join this virtual meeting are listed below. Our topic this month continues to be:

Tackling Social Isolation

It became clear through our previous discussions that across disciplines we are all concerned about the social isolation of older adults, including its effects on their physical and mental health. With the conflation of COVID-19, the fall/winter seasons, the holidays, and flu season, this issue hit the top of our list to tackle.

As you can see from the October notes (see attached), we honed in on broadcasting programs via local television channels. We have updates on this project. I would also like to talk about winter and holiday outreach to combat isolation and depression. Anyone with other updates relevant to the group will be given a chance to present in a brief round robin. We will then again decide on next steps and assign responsibilities to move forward.

As always, all are welcome in this conversation.  We can only tackle these large issues if we work together and cast a wider net of professionals and community members. Feel free to share this meeting invitation with others. If you have ideas for how to bring more voices, especially underrepresented voices, to the table, please let me know!
