Good morning-

Most of you are aware of the Age Friendly Champaign-Urbana Initiative.  For those who aren't and would like more information, please look up Age Friendly on the AARP website.  This is an international effort being sponsored through AARP in the United States.

As part of our work plan for Age Friendly, we are addressing Communication and Inclusion issues.  What follows is one of our action steps to improve Communication and Inclusion.  I hope that you will support this step (Chambana Seniors) in our effort to make Champaign-Urbana "Age Friendly"  in whatever ways you can: promoting the site, subscribing to the site, sending story tips, sharing this information with friends, colleagues, and clients.

1)    Chambana Seniors will be ready to launch soon.  They are looking for both content suggestions and subscribers for their email list.

a.     Please email any story tips to editor at chambanaseniors.com<mailto:editor at chambanaseniors.com>. These should be stories that are not immediate, but things that have longevity that we might want for launch.

b.     They are working on sending out a note to collaborators about adding events to the Chambana Seniors calendar. Many of those are obvious to us (park districts, OLLI, YMCA, Savoy Rec, Forest Preserve District, etc.); some of them may not be. If you have suggestions for who we should contact, please let them know

c.      They are working on building our email list and will soon be sending out weekly newsletters.
