Subject: Self-Help Center Call for Presenters!

Dear colleagues,
Planning is now underway for the Self-Help Center's conference, scheduled for Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Hawthorne Suites in Champaign, IL.  The 2017 conference will focus on effective communication skills/techniques and the meaningful connections with people that result.
We would like to identify an expert in communication (e.g., non-violent communication, mediation, etc.) as a keynote speaker for this event. We are calling upon you to help build a pool of candidates from which the Self-Help Center Advisory Council will select a speaker. Please send your suggestions for candidates (at lliss at familyservicecc.org), with a brief description of why he/she/they should be chosen as well as contact information for each candidate.
In addition, we would like to highlight the impressive work being done within the Self-Help network. If you have an idea for a break-out session focusing on communication and connection and/or if you are having success within your group, please share your knowledge and experience! Send along a brief description of the session you envision and your contact information.
Please submit your suggestions for either keynote speaker or break-out session by Friday, September 23.
