The Senior Resource Center at Family Service, as part of a community collaboration, recently received a grant from the Christie Foundation to provide support and information to people in Champaign County with a dementia diagnosis and their families.

As part of that process, on Wednesday, February 8th from 1:00 - 4:30, Sandy Burgener, Ph.D., APRN-BC, FAAN will be providing training to the staff of the Senior Resource Center on dementia care support.

We would like to invite interested professionals to join us for this opportunity to increase our skills around working with those facing Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

The training is being offered free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis, but space may be limited.  We hope, however, to be able to accommodate all who are interested.  While we are not charging a fee for the training, we hope that everyone will consider the real likelihood of being able to attend before reserving a spot so that everyone who wants to attend is able to do so.

At this point in time, the training is scheduled to be held at Family Service.  If necessary and possible, the venue may change to accommodate more people.
