2010 "Comprehensive Budget Reform Package"
Dear Illinois Partners:
If you are receiving this email, you and/or your organization is
located or provides service within a district where a legislator took a
brave stand this morning. This consortium (listed below) is breaking the
status quo in an attempt to "think outside the box" and come up with a
Comprehensive Budget Reform Package. The details of the group's proposal
is attached.
We would like to ask you, valued members, to please reach out to the
legislators in your respective areas and thank them for their efforts.
At the same time, we need to continue to press our agenda further. The
plan as outlined is certainly a step in the right direction, BUT IT IS
NOT ENOUGH!
In this last critical week before the lawmakers' May 31st deadline to
pass a budget for the State of Illinois, we need you to ask these
elected representatives to keep trying. As always our message remains
the same. We need a budget plan that:
1. Adequately funds human services
2. Pays the bills in a timely manner
3. Creates a firm foundation for moving Illinois forward out of the
current fiscal hole
For some of you, this may be your second or third call to your
lawmakers, but don't give up! It is more important then ever that we
make our voices heard.

If there is anyway that we can assist you, please do not hesitate to
ask.
We can't say enough how much we appreciate all that you do. You ARE
making a difference!
Thank you!
