I4A Action ALERT

Please call your State Representatives by close of business Tuesday,
April 27 and urge their support of SB 3267, as amended.

SB 3267 requires the Illinois Department on Aging to develop a web-based
training program for use by front-line employees of financial
institutions, to prevent financial exploitation of older adults.
Financial institutions would be required to make web-based training
available to their front-line employees. The bill also permits
financial institutions to use their own training program if it is
comparable to the IDOA program. This bill will help us deter elder
abuse.

SB 3267 is on the agenda of the House Committee on Aging hearing
scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2010.

We thank you for making calls to your House Members last week. We have
gained additional sponsors for SB 3267 as a result.

Please call your House Members again prior to the hearing on April 28,
give them the facts, and urge their support for SB 3267 as amended.

Thank you.
