<p>University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners invite the community to their 16th annual Garden Walk on Sunday, June 12 from 12-5 p.m. Featuring seven gardens in Westville, this year’s Garden Walk offers the perfect opportunity to slow down and enjoy the beauty of summer. Garden Walk is held rain or shine</p>

<p>Tickets to the Garden Walk are $10.00 and available for purchase at the Vermilion County Extension Office at 3164 North Vermilion, across from the Village Mall, in Danville. Tickets may also be purchased at Danville Gardens, Berry’s Garden Center, Big R Danville and the Tilton and Westville Public Libraries. Tickets are also available at the Champaign County Extension office.</p>

<p>Join the Ford-Iroquois County Master Gardener for their FIRST Garden Walk!</p>
<p>University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners serving Ford and Iroquois Counties invite the community to their inaugural Garden Walk on Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year’s event will feature four home gardens in Paxton and the Loda Cemetery Prairie Nature Preserve, a remnant of the original tallgrass prairie native to the area.</p>
<p>This is a brand new event for the Ford-Iroquois County Master Gardeners which they hope to make into an annual springtime showcase. Attendees can expect to see shade gardens, vegetable gardens, shrub borders and a petunia pyramid. Several gardens also feature eclectic garden art ranging from bottle trees to birdhouses and much more!</p>

<p>Bluebird Workshop will be held on Wednesday, June 8 at Mill Creek Park, 20482 N. Park Entrance Road, Marshall beginning at 9 AM. Join us to view recently active bluebird boxes while members of the Eastern Illinois Bluebird Society discuss ideal location and maintenance. Attendees will have the opportunity to make their own bluebird box to take home with them. This program is co-sponsored by Marathon Pipeline Corporation. </p>
<p>Cost is $5 each and pre-registration is required. </p>

<p>Danville Gardens is known for their beautiful container arrangements. Wouldn’t it be nice to group plants together with that type of creative flair?</p>
<p>Attendees will have a choice of four 4 inch premium annuals and potting soil for a 12 inch container. You may bring a larger container and pay for extra potting soil.</p>
<p>This event takes place at Danville Gardens, 1307 Cleary Ave. Class size is limited to 30 people and attendees must register and prepay $25 at the Extension office <u>not</u> Danville Gardens.</p>
<p>Container is <u>not</u> included-bring your own and make something special! Danville Gardens will remain open for attendees so you have time to do some extra shopping. Some plants will be on sale.</p>

Champaign County Master Gardeners welcome Susan Biggs-Warner of the Vermilion County Conservation District as she presents Cooking with Herbs on Tuesday, June 28 at 6:30 pm. This will be a hands-one, mouth-watering presentation as samples will be available of herb delights. Recipes of each dish will be distributed.</p>

<p>The bus trip costs $35. This includes admission and tour fees of Cantigny Park and Ball Horticulture. Lunch will be on your own at Cantigny Park. The cost does not include gratuity. <p>The day will begin with a shopping excersion at Possibility Place, a nursery that specializes in growing native plants, a tour of the gardens at Cantigny Park finishing with a tour at Ball Horticulture. </p>

<p>Join the McLean County Master Gardeners and friends on our six day, five night tour to Asheville, NC scheduled for August 21-26, 2016. The highlights of our tour will be a full day visit to the Biltmore Estate. Our visit will include a tour of the largest privately owned home and gardens, and the new Antler Village and Winery. Our tour will also include a visit to the Garfield Park and Conservatory in Indianapolis, a guided tour of Asheville, a visit to the North Carolina Arboretum and the Blue Ridge Parkway.</p>

<p>The Illinois Master Gardener Conference will be a one-day conference this year scheduled for Friday, August 19. The event will be held at the I Hotel and Conference Center. As our unit (Champaign, Ford, Iroquois and Vermilion counties) is “hosting” the event local Master Gardeners will be asked to assist with registration, silent auction, etc. I will share announcements and more detailed request in the coming months.</p>
<p>At the conference, there will be a silent auction to support Master Gardener mini-grants, a keynote speaker, State Master Gardener awards presentation, catered lunch followed by afternoon tours.</p>
