Monday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m.

It is far too common to find non-native invasive plants in gardens, yards, and surrounding areas. These plants spread with gusto often to the detriment of your property and neighboring ones. Invasive plants are sometimes introduced intentionally and unknowingly while others, true to their nature, sneak in from nearby populations. Examples of invasive plants include herbs, shrubs, flowering plants, trees, and vines.

East Central Illinois Master Naturalists invite you to attend a seminar entitled "Invasive Plants in Your Landscape? What to Do."

Date: Monday, March 21, 2016

Time: 6:30pm

Place: University of Illinois Extension Auditorium, 801 N Country Fair Drive, Champaign, IL 61821

Free and open to the public

This seminar will cover:

Common invasive plants and their identification

What to avoid when acquiring new plants

Replacing invasive plants with good alternatives

Transitioning to native plants over time

Controlling existing invasive plants to reduce their spread and impact on neighbors

The cost and impact of ignoring invasive plants

Our speakers are well-versed in invasive plants and have dedicated a good portion of their careers to invasive plant prevention, control, and removal.
