<p>July’s muggy weather and June’s consistent rain makes for sad, wet plants. Homeowners need YOUR help identifying their plant problems and helping them with plantings suggestions in their landscapes! Volunteers are needed for the Horticulture Hotline for the remainder of the gardening season.</p>
<p><strong>Intimidated by the hotline? Don’t be! Grab your Master Gardener buddy and serve on the hotline together. Also, you are not obligated to serve the full 4 hours (serve for 1 or 2).</strong></p>

Chris Tidrick will teach you the basic techniques of garden photography that can be used with the camera you already own.</p>

<p>Champaign County Master Gardeners have the opportunity to tour Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery followed by a farm luncheon with locally sourced, seasonal foods on <strong>Tuesday, August 18 beginning at 10:30 am</strong>. <strong>Registration is required by Monday, August 10.</strong> The combined cost of the tour and luncheon is $20, payable upon arrival on the farm day-of the tour. Cash, check, and credit card are accepted. Please select your lunch preference below.</p>
<p>Meet at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 18 at the farm, 4410 N. Lincoln Ave., Champaign. Attendees will be lead on an hour-long tour led by Prairie Fruit Farms staff. The tour will consist of barns, orchards, and vegetable gardens as well as meeting the "ladies" who make up the farm's milking goat herd. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. The event will be held rain or shine. Indoor seating will be available during lunch. To facilitate parking, please carpool.</p>

<p>Keynote speaker is Rosalind Creasy, internationally known garden and food writer, speaker and landscape designer. Rosalind's first book, <em>The Complete Book of Edible Landscaping,</em> won the Garden Writers Quill and Trowel award and coined the term 'edible landscaping'. Ms. Creasy will talk on Edible Landscaping and Gardening with Heirloom Vegetables and Flowers.</p>

East Central Illinois Master Naturalists (ECIMN) are making available for purchase a selection of trees and shrubs indigenous to Illinois. <p>All plants come in special 5 gallon containers which are designed to encourage numerous roots but inhibit circling roots. No chemicals (such as copper) are used to enhance a fibrous root system. Plants cost $25 each (including shipping and handling). Orders will be accepted until 8/31/2015. It is located just S of the Museum of the Prairie at Lake of the Woods. From I-74, go north on Hwy 47 past the cemetery and one house/driveway.
