[CCMG-Announce] A Farewell Message From Master Gardener State Coordinator

Dear Master Gardener Volunteers-

I am writing to you today to announce my retirement from the University of Illinois. My final work day will be December 31, 2015. I am embarking on a new chapter of my life which will include lots of travel, helping my husband with his nature photography, time to spend with my wonderful grandchildren and a part time position working with youth and gardening.
It has been my privilege and honor to work with the Master Gardener program for the last 16 years. I am constantly in awe of the dedication and commitment with which you tackle your volunteer work. As I travel the state I watch with wonder and admiration as you answer questions, work with youth and the elderly and help the under-privileged learn about gardening. You are truly the most giving and caring group of people I have had the fortune to be associated with.  Thank you very much!
Plans for an interim coordinator of the Master Gardener are in progress and I am confident the program will continue to thrive under new leadership. The Master Gardener state advisory committee is working on plans for transition as well as continuity for the program.
